Claude is the standard that all others are judged by. But it’s not cheap.
Gemini is pretty good, and Qwen-coder isn’t bad. I’d suggest you watch a few vids on GosuCoder’s YT channel to see what works for you, he reviews a pile of them and it’s quite up to date.
And if you use VScode, I highly recommend the Roocode extension. Gosucoder also goes into revising the roocode prompt to reduce costs for Claude. Another extension is Cline.
LMStudio is pretty much the standard. I think it’s opensource except for the UI. Even if you don’t end up using it long-term, it’s great for getting used to a lot of the models.
Otherwise there’s OpenWebUI that I would imagine would work as a docker compose, as I think there’s ARM images for OWU and ollama
AIO is performant and much easier to maintain. If there was a method to try to run Nextcloud in the last decade, I probably tried it, and nothing has compared to the AIO.
The capslock works differently, apparently. I’m used to writing every capital letter using the capslock key, meaning if I write a capital at the beginning of a word, I press capslock, then type the first letter, then quickly press capslock again and type the rest.
Years ago I had a registrar go tits up without warning, taking about 70-80 active domains for an MSP’s customers with it. I managed their email servers and DNS, which was with the registar, of course. It was a bloody nightmare to recover that situation. Because we couldn’t supply them a DNS change to prove our control of the DNS, hence ownership of the domain, we had to individually affadavit each domain. Took weeks.
I get you don’t think it’s important, but there’s plenty of sysadmins that do, with experience backing that up.
I don’t agree and it’s no extra work to do it the other way. And when one or the other goes fucky, you can recover immediately.
When I modded some subreddits I had an automod rule that would target curl-bash pipes in comments and posts, and remove them. I took a fair bit of heat over that, but I wasn’t backing down.
I had a lot of respect for Tteck and had a couple discussions with him about that and why I was doing that. I saw that eventually he put a notice up that pretty much said what I did about understanding what a script does, and how the URL you use can be pointed to something else entirely long after the commandline is posted.
